CAPIX Newsletter

Welcome to the March 2001 edition of the CAPIX newsletter. The CAPIX newsletter is a quarterly publication designed to keep clients/interested parties informed of the latest company and product news.

It is our aim to use the newsletter as a forum for discussion and to promote user feedback and participation in the future direction and development of the CAPIX Treasury Manager (CTM) and CAPIX Internet eXchange (CiX) products.

This newsletter is distributed in an electronic format via e-mail and is also published on our web site www.capix.com.au.

CAPIX Limited News

The CAPIX Limited IPO and ASX listing has been postponed due to poor market conditions for capital raisings in Australia for technology companies at present.

Our stock broking firm and advisors have advised that Q4 2001 is likely to be the next window of opportunity for the IPO. In the meantime it is business as usual for the CAPIX team.

Deloitte Touché Tomatsu

As part of the CAPIX expansion we have entered into a strategic alliance with Deloitte Touché Tohmatsu who are the preferred implementer of CTM2000. Deloitte is one of the "top five" firms in Australia who offer a range of services to the treasury market.

This alliance is an exciting development for our clients and offers CTM2000 users access to the combined resources of the CAPIX and Deloitte team, together with a powerful range of products and services to assist your treasury operations.

Software Support Database

The Software Support Database (SSD) may now be accessed through the CAPIX web site at (www.capix.com.au) To access the support database simply go to the web site, press the support tab and log in.

The SSD is for CAPIX clients only. If you are a new client wishing to have access contact CAPIX directly to have a login account created.

The SSD simply means that software issues can be logged, documented and monitored. All software issues including defects and development are now tracked using the support database via a reference number. If you have a defect in the system the SSD automatically generates a reference number, which is then attended to. Clients can log support issues and monitor their progress via the CAPIX web site. The customer then has the opportunity to verify work to date and accept the work before we proceed to the next phase of the project.

CTM Product Developments

Much has been happening with the development of CTM over the last few months and we anticipate a continued acceleration of product development for the rest of 2001. Below is a summary of the latest developments in progress and we would be pleased to provide you with further details on any features that may be relevant to your organization.

  •  Cash Flow Forecasting Enhancements
  •  General Ledger Integration Enhancements
  •  Yield Curve Valuations for Debt Instruments
  •  Additional Debt Portfolio Reports
  •  Cosmetic Improvements to the User Interface
  •  New Release of the User Manual and Documentation

CTM on average recorded one sale per month last year. In 2001, we have been averaging closer to two, with a forecasted target of one software sale a week. As the Australian Treasury market is mature, we envisage the bulk of our CTM sales to come from overseas. Strong interest has come from Asia, in particular New Zealand, Indonesia and Malaysia.

To account for this augmented interest an additional two programmers have been added to the CTM development team. These extra resources will allow for client specific enhancements to be made with a quicker turn-around time.

Contact Peter Cooney to discuss any client specific enhancement required.

At CAPIX we are dedicated to developing a software solution that is both relevant and cost effective. These objectives can only be achieved through open dialogue with the system users.
